Knettishall Heath

Meet in the free car park at Knettishall Heath, about 6 miles east of Thetford. Managed by Suffolk Wildlife Trust, this is a diverse mosaic of habitats with woodland and riverside meadows, as well as large areas of heath.
In the evening we may have a bat walk along the river in Thetford.

Weeting Heath

Meet initially at Weeting Heath, about 10 miles north-west of Thetford. This is the best site in the country to watch Stone Curlew. There is an admission charge of £4.50
We will then move on to RSPB Lakenheath Fen, MR TL 719 863, which is 3 miles further west. There is an admission charge of £4.00 for non-members.
In the evening we will meet up for a meal in a hostelry in Thetford, probably the Black Horse but to be confirmed.
